Aim Enters Utah Market with Double D Distribution ProShop Deal

Aim Transportation Solutions is proud to be expanding into the Utah market through its exciting new business deal with Double D Distribution.

The prominent Salt Lake City-based trucking company Double D Distribution and Aim recently agreed to an Aim ProShop partnership, a unique service in which Aim assumes the responsibilities (and liability) of a business’s on-site fleet maintenance shop, and, in return, the customer receives all the benefits of Aim’s decades of maintenance experience as well as its vast cost-cutting resource network for parts purchasing and more.

“Double D Distribution has a long, rich history as a vital link in Utah’s supply chain, and we’re honored to begin playing a role in the unparalleled service they’ve been providing their customers for decades,” said Aim Co-President Geoff Fleming. “We look forward to working hand in hand with their amazing team to forge an enduring, mutually beneficial relationship.”

Built on grit, opportunity and a single 1979 Freightliner cab-over tractor, Double D Distribution has played an important role in Utah’s trucking history since 1984. From those humble beginnings, when Double D founder and owner Mark Droubay purchased that first Freightliner and started trucking gravel and hay, to today, with more than 38 trucks, over 80 trailers and a large team of professional drivers, the company has cemented itself as a crucial part in the area’s supply chain.

Specializing in the transportation of hot liquid asphalt and asphalt emulsions; crude oil; flatbed, dry van and refrigerated freight; milk; heavy equipment; and much more, Double D Distribution is a one-stop shop for Utah businesses needing to move product safely and reliably.

That said, Double D Distribution’s day-to-day operation heavily depends on having a safe, efficient and dependable fleet of trucks and trailers. A critical piece of that puzzle is maintenance and repairs, and, for companies with large fleets of trucks and trailers like Double D Distribution, Aim’s ProShop service is a true all-in-one maintenance solution.

Part of what makes ProShop unique is, while Aim manages and streamlines the day-to-days, the customer remains in control. This means Aim is charged with handling the shop’s overall performance; ongoing training, hiring and retaining mechanics; human resource matters; administrative tasks (billing, inventory management, reporting, etc.); and much more, but the customer, ultimately, has final say in all matters.

“Mark Droubay, his son, Skyler, and the entire Double D Distribution team have been wonderful to work with, and we’re thrilled to have this opportunity to deliver to them the truck maintenance expertise and resources we’ve developed and refined for more than four decades,” said Jeff Manion, Vice President of Aim ProShop. “Double D Distribution has a stellar customer service reputation, and whatever we can do to enhance that further from the maintenance side, we’re going to do it.”

Beyond increased efficiency, spending less on parts and the innumerable benefits of Aim Proshop, Double D Distribution now, without having to worry about running their shop, has more time and resources to focus on what they do best: making deliveries to customers on time every time.

“This partnership with Double D Distribution is an exciting opportunity for us to expand Aim’s unrivaled brand of family-owned and -operated commercial transportation solutions—built on specialized attention, care and flexibility—to Utah businesses and beyond,” Fleming added.
